Dropbox
This is a genius idea that allows you to access your documents and photos from all of your computers, laptops, phones and even the Dropbox website (in case your computer crashes or you are on a computer that doesn't have the Dropbox download).
Go to www.dropbox.com from any PC or Mac and download Dropbox for free. Once you have it downloaded all you do is drag the file you want to access into the Dropbox icon on your computer screen so you can access it from the places I listed above. Examples of things you might want to put in your Dropbox include:
- itineraries
- pics of your kids
- documents with your usernames and passwords
- your budget (if you, like me, like to work on it on different computers in your house or at work and at home)
- documents you have completed at home that you need for work and vice versa
This is a great, free program that is very user friendly. Wish I would have thought of it!
This is one of my all-time favorite websites and I use it exactly like you - a virtual filing system so I can get rid of paperwork!
ReplyDeleteThey even have a Dropbox app so you can pull docs up on your phone now.
I use it for everything you mentioned, along with receipts for big purchases (since so many fade out over time) and copies of medical records and lab reports.
